The article (28 October 2026) reports the producers' association estimating that the cancelled season removes about 500,000 t of fishmeal output, on an assumed 2 Mt quota. That figure is the SNP's estimate, not a measured loss. On 17 October, Gestión also reported the SNP warning of a stoppage until 2027 and asking for tax measures to give its members liquidity. Its members include TASA, Austral, Copeinca, Exalmar, Diamante and Hayduk.
