Karlsruhe lies upstream of Kaub, so with ARA supply cut the barges still on the Upper Rhine load at MiRO for Strasbourg and Basel: a volume advantage that is evidenced. The price sign at the refinery gate runs the other way: Argus reported on 30 July 2026 that suppliers at the refinery were lowering prices for truck loadings of heating oil, diesel and petrol to clear product they could no longer barge to ARA. The direction is kept for the upstream volumes; the net price effect is undetermined.

In August 2026 Argus reported that both of MiRO's barge outlets were constrained, leaving suppliers there oversupplied. The two exposures together show that low water helps MiRO's local sales but blocks its longer-distance outlets; the net effect is not shown.
